iWeb Yosemite | Is iWeb Compatible With OS X 10.10 Yosemite
July 28th, 2014With the recent announcement of OS X 10.10 – Yosemite – many iWeb users are wondering whether or not iWeb will still work on the latest release. Apple has opened up the Yosemite beta to the public, which means that many every day users will be downloading the new operating system a few months ahead of schedule.
So the bottom line is does iWeb work with Yosemite? We have tested iWeb on systems running Yosemite and iWeb does appear to still work with some limitations. Users may come across a few bugs here and there. For example, we came across this small bug when adding a blog to our site. The ‘Add Entry’ and ‘Delete Entry’ buttons that appear when on the blog page now appear when on any page on the website. Other issues we encountered were missing images for some widgets and incompatible widgets (such as Google maps & the MobileMe gallery).
Though most iWeb features do still work with Yosemite, there are a few things that iWeb users should keep in mind. iWeb has not seen a major update since 2009. One day, iWeb 09 will stop working on a future update of OS X, just as iWeb 08 no longer works on OS X 10.9 or later. In addition, no future updates to iWeb will be released.
EverWeb, our iWeb replacement is compatible with OS X 10.6 through OS X 10.10, Yosemite. In addition, we have continued to update it with new features such as drop down menus, mobile websites, mouse over effects, master pages and much more. Our goal with EverWeb is to provide a modern replacement for Apple’s discontinued iWeb. Plus, we’ve made it really easy to transition your iWeb site to an EverWeb site.
EverWeb is currently being used by thousands of ex-iWeb users and they are very happy with it. Check out what EverWeb customers have to say about EverWeb. Still not convinced? Read the third party EverWeb reviews.

I am having a very difficult time letting go of iweb with hopes that one day Apple will bring it back, thus, this seems like an illusion, i have been following you guys for many years now and you seem to be great. Here is my question, who founded Ragesw and Everweb, who are the investors behind these two brands and are you guys ever planning on developing Everweb for the use online and not on a specific computer. WIX and WEEBLY are doing this successfully with their drag and drop editors, are you by any chance entertaining this feature? Thank you. Giselle

Hello,
I also have http://www.christinedion.com and http://www.christinedionfitness.com. I had to do a system reinstall on my MacBook Pro. I had saved my 14 GB website on two external drives. When I went to open it, only the iWeb default window opens. I have not figured out how to open up the actual website file. I am very interested in trying EverWeb, however in your video that shows the transition from iWeb to EverWeb, you need to have the iWeb application open to the actual web pages. Are you able to help me get the iWeb open so that I can then transition to EverWeb? As a high school teacher I rely on my teacher site every single day, so I can’t take it down until I’m completely ready to transition over.
You seem to have an amazing product. I thank you for your time and I look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
Christine Dion

You can also use your published site to copy and paste from to your new EverWeb site. The process it very similar, just open your site up in your browser and drag and drop/copy and paste from your web browser to EverWeb.

I just moved off my olde MacMini – and I was using nVu and Fetch applications to keep my web pages up to date –
I have been using redshift’s (my email host) free website space for my website for many years –
and have my webpages’ content/files stored on my desktop – and would like to be able to keep
them for ready access when I need to modify them, and then make the changes, and send them onto
my redshift website file set – I am looking for software that works best using basic HTML and allows review and
modification of both imagery and text via either the Visual format sen on the web – or the HTML behind it ???
Moving the updated files to my websites’ sharp@ftp.sharpgary.org=public.html – location – is primary
once the individual files are updated –

I just tried to launch iWeb now that I’ve upgraded to Yosemite and it seems to launch but no window opens except the mobile me window. Anybody know if there’s a way to work around that? I am busy copying and pasting to my new Everweb site.
Thanks,
Rob
